Arts & Crafts

Good day! I have been awake for a couple of hours and I’m waiting on Michael’s to open so I can go get a few more supplies. Let me update you on the latest.

First off, we found out the parakeet we brought home is actually a boy, so his name has been slightly altered to “Chico”. No biggie. He is finally getting comfortable with his new surroundings, and he chirps to music now.

I also have made a decision to crotchet blankets for the homeless, so I started on one with the colors cream and dark blue. I’m almost half way done, but I took a break from it yesterday to embroider a piece for my living room wall. It’s my first freestyle piece, so I decided to make it a Japanese piece to hang on my wall that is covered with Oriental fans. In doing so, my work inspired my daughter to learn to embroider, and that is why I am waiting on 9 o’clock to come around, so we can purchase a beginners kit for her.

Everything we do, they watch. They will decide whether to mock our behavior or to throw it from their minds, so I at least want to give my daughter positive options to choose from. I’ve made my mistakes, plenty of them, and I think it’s time go down a less selfish path.

Until next time! -Chel
